I still couldn't get the radio station to tune in over the Internet. Sad

The Rolling Stones ... hmmm ... I suppose it's too late to request Gimmie Shelter? Laughing

GNR ... hmmm ... Strictly IMO but honestly I think they did one pretty good album and that's about it. Didn't really understand the fuss about them. Rocket Queen ... mainly because I like the bass on it. Patience ... actually one of my favorite GNR songs. I didn't even know it was them when I first heard it on the radio around 1989/1990. Might be a little too mellow for a rock program though.

It's not too late, as my show never went on air, as I had a wonderful Industrial Organisation exam!!! So, hopefully, you can tune in on Saturday. I've changed my mind a little on the theme of the show, it'll be a blue rock show, so stones, yardbirds etc. I'll also put your request out Wink

Just in case people wondered what was going on with my show here's a little update:

The show has not been on due to broadcasting license problems and Ofcom being slow. We are trying to change to digital station (can become LUSH Digital) but, as always, government departments are taking their time, which is really annoying.

the station will be back on the air (via the internet only) on Monday (12th) and then back on FM March 2nd. Although, for those of you living in Leicester, the station will now be on 87.7FM and not 107.9, no idea why.

The show is back on air!!! Very Happy

However, it is now on a Tuesday at 2100 GTM, which I guess is better than 3 on a Saturday.

Anyway, it starts this tuesday and I will be doing the aforementioned Brit Blues Rock show.

especially at 9 GMT as thsat means it's 10 O'clock here in the evening and I can hook up to the net to hear it.

DO you do phone in's or have email requests at all? If so let us know the details and I'll call from Italy! Very Happy

Same e-mail address as before, Sleeper?

Darn! Looks like I’m going to miss the Tuesday show. I actually had to break out the time converter ... maybe it’s just too early in the morning to think. I’ve coordinated a few online chats between people located literally all over the world and can usually do the time conversions off the top of my head now.

I’m in the same time zone as New York City and Miami (for frame of reference) and the radio show would be on at 4:00 p.m. here. I’m usually not home from work until after 5:15/5:30 p.m. at the earliest. Unless they’re giving you two hours again? Wink

It’s great to know there’s someone out there broadcasting and spreading the word about classic rock as I’ve gotten the impression radio over there is pretty cr*ppy as far as playing any classic rock and old school metal. Actually it’s not so great here any more either. I almost never listen to the radio at home (except a morning “oldies” show which has an amusing crew while getting ready for work) and in my car I play CD’s or cassettes. I do my own “programming”!

Yep, same e-mail (lushstudio@le.ac.uk) as before, there is a phone number, but I wouldn't bother as the sound quality on our phone connection is very poor.

I havn't been given 2 hours again, which is a shame.

And HiFi, you right about classic rock over here, no-one is promoting it on the mainstream radio, apart from occasionly Bruce Dickenson gets a show on BBC Radio 2 (which is our middle of the road station). It is a shame, esp as classic rock is pretty big. Anyway, hopefully, one day it will change.

Well, the new timetable has come out and with that Owen's new slot (why must they always play around with it?) Anyway, I finally got a 2 hour show, At midnight!!!! Oh well, if Bruce Dickenson can cope so can I

New time - Friday 0000-0200 GMT

New frequency - 87.5FM

New website - lush-radio.co.uk

P.S.
If anyone from Leicester Uni does read this, I know some do, a few things to say
1)Sign up to the boards and JOIN IN!!!!!
2)vote for Jones on Thursday for Finance and Management without portfolio Wink
