Notorious

Hi, I am new here. I just saw a mention that the guy singing in DIamond Head now was in Notorious with Robin George. But I have a cassette of the Notorious album and it is Sean Harris singing. What is the story here? I am afraid the album is pretty bad.

The current DH singer, Nick Tart, speant a little time in Notorious, but only appears on two tracks
HiFi

It wasn't Notorious; the band was called Life and released an album in 1997 called Cocoon.  Robin George did guitar and vocals and Nick did lead vocals.  I got my hands on a copy awhile ago and was going to post about it but hadn't gotten around to it.

As far as the Cocoon album goes, I like it Very Happy  It's interesting hearing Nick on songs other than DH tunes.  The music is pretty solid all the way through, though different from any DH and not metal.

Also interesting to note ...  On the DH DVD in the interviews portion, if I remember and understand correctly, Nick stated he hadn't written songs for an album prior to All Will Be Revealed.  Well, looking at the liner notes on the Cocoon album he is jointly credited with Robin George on a track called The Language of Love Very Happy

edited to add:  oopsies!!!

Here's a link to a site with the album and some mp3 snippets of all the tracks.  I haven't the foggiest whether the album is still actually available.  I got mine off ebay from a seller in Portugal.

Thanks for the info Hi-Fi.  On the biography pages on the DH site it says for Nick :-

Robin offered Nick the opportunity to front the band Notorious and to contribute his vocal ability on a project together. Robin George referred to Nick as "one of the most outstanding vocal talents from England since the halcyon days of the seventies, Nick's natural rock/blues style and on stage persona made him the obvious choice for Notorious."

Seems like Notorious evolved into Life as I'm not aware of any Notorious recorded output other than the album and the SWALK 12" single.

Budprager - I agree with you that the Notorious album is pretty poor.  There's a couple of good tracks, but it was such a disappointment for me at the time.  Harris / George looked good on paper, but it was a bit of a damp squib - and an expensive one at that!

There's an interesting thread about Notorious at the Glenn Hughes forum -> http://www.glennhughes.com/fanforum/showthread.php?t=1662

Seems a version of the Notorious album with Nick on vocals is to be released sometime next year!

The first one is by Seans band Notorious and it's called "Here We Go" and the secong song is called "Who's The Man' and features Sean and Brian. If you have this soundtrack or the mp3's, please e-mail me. aa721ss@hotmail.com

I've got the soundtrack album on vinyl, but I don't have a record deck anymore otherwise I would try to rip it to MP3 for you.

I haven't listened to it for years, but from what I can remember both tracks are pretty poor.  I think Sean and Brian also appear on the song "Haunted" by Glenn Hughes, also from the "Highlander II : The Quickening" soundtrack album.

Thanks. I kinda just want the tracks for my collection. I liked the Notorious cd, so I figgured that the other tracks couldn't be too bad. I'd buy the CD, but most places want $50-$100 for it.
