Live in the heat of the nightI have just bought live album - live in the heat of the night, and my first impressions of it are good.
The album seems to have a bootleg feel to it, and from what is said in the liner notes, i feel that the initial recording was never meant to be released. However, this adds a real raw feel to the album, which I find rather endearing.
It is a shame that the enitre set was no recorded (after looking at the gigs page the first and last songs were left out).
It was nice hear some classics in the set that seem to get overlooked these days, such as 'to heaven from hell' and it is also nice to hear some of the material that never made it onto studio releases.
In conclusion i would recomened to new DH fans looking to get a live album to buy TTDHD, but for the hardened DH fan this is a must IMO, esp with the second disc showing live footage of the gig. ace!

Thanks for the review, sleeper! Don't know why that CD didn't quite hit my radar before. It sounds interesting. I might look into getting my own copy.

Not too long after these posts I happened to find a U.S. seller who had a copy of Live In The Heat Of The Night for sale and I bought it!
If I didn’t know better I would have thought it was a bootleg but I don’t meant that in a bad way. It’s definitely more raw than I think the more casual types would appreciate but great if you’re a fan, especially the video portion. I had no problem playing the VCD on my DVD player and it was nice to be able to watch the show on my TV!
