Just seen this on an Italian forum and wanted to share it!Hi guys, just found this interesting, I am posting on some Italian sites and things and started a thread off on Diamond Head and one of the guys responded with this to someone who has only heard of one Diamond Head album. This guy seems to like the group though as for the sheer amount he wrote on the forum!!! So I thought, well seeings as I speak Italian and the language for me isn't a barrier, why not translate it up for you all to have a look at and enjoy.
Obviously this is just what one guy posted on a forum so I take no responsibility for differences in opinion, errors with timelines etc just thought you may all like to have a read!
Ok here it is:
"The vinyl in question I haven't actually heard of, it’s probably a compilation. In every case though, and I recommend you check out Diamond Head as they are one of the longest running, best produced bands to come out of the NWOBHM era, they represented the more refined and technical part of the NWOBHM movement. They should be considered more hard rock than Heavy Metal though and have been the authors of some extraordinary discs, always further away from the real Heavy Metal side of things but still a great hard rock band all the same. Great musicians, a singer who I class as one of the best of like...forever! (unfortunately Harris is not in the band anymore), an author of some great vocal lines and extraordinary vocal melodies, and then Brian Tatler, the guitarist, that apart from playing like God, has always been the brain behind the band. Above all they have always evolved and have never remained stuck on one idea or concept but at the same time still retaining their identity. From the start and the famous “White Album” which was actually released without a title and self produced (to then be rebaptised by everyone as Lightening to the Nations) after that we had some heavier and more direct/aggressive work with the masterpiece that is Borrowed Time and the undisputed album which is Canterbury, where even there the definition of “Hard Rock” is pushed, but lets call it just a great rock album. They disbanded as the success just didn’t come then reformed in the 90’s with a great Death and Progress to then disappear again! Then all of a sudden 2005 sees the return of the group with a new singer (also this new singer has a great capacity like the ex-Harris) and a new disc too. All Will be Revealed, in my opinion it is not up there with the previous albums but does contain just some great songs. To the general public they are more noted for the fact that Metallica covered many of their songs like Am I Evil, Lightning to the Nations and Helpless (also The Prince too I think?), in reality a band that should have always had more success and who knows why they didn’t maybe because they were not fashionable already having Metallica around? Anyway they up until now they haven’t been fully appreciated."

Lloydie, thank you for sharing that and taking the time and trouble to translate the posting for us!
I have no difference in opinion with this guy; in fact IMO he's absolutely spot on in his assessment of the band.
At the forums I've checked out I don't see much on Diamond Head When I mention Diamond Head a couple people will come out from the wood work saying they really like the band. Then usually it's just a few words, not an entire essay!
*SIGH* it feels like an uphill battle from where I sit but if my one person cheering section can get one more person to listen to Diamond Head or jog one person's memory enough to check out the band after explaining DH is still around and an active band right now ... it's something, I hope.

As for the one person Diamond Head cheering section...http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/...mode=Article&newsitemID=67286
Hi Guys click on this link above, register for Blabbermouth and voice your opinion! I spend most of my lunch at work (and when my boss is not looking) going to forums and just mentioning Diamond Head and then bumping the topic till people start taking notice..
Another good thing I do is post on topics like "Metallica to tour Europe" and post something like
"I love Metallica, come to Italy!!!!! oh and BTW www.diamond-head.net "
If just 1% of the 500,000 people registered on Blabbermouth start to take notice then thats a great starting point!
Slowly, slowly it is working..... as Sleeper will know you just have to post whore a little more!
P.S. As for the translations if I see anything else on the Italian forums I will keep you all in the know.

I hadn't thought of that Metallica idea, might have to steal it off you!
Anyway, read the Blabbermouth thing. Loved your comment about Download! Although you made a fair point, why are DH never at these major festivals? The amount of stages that Reading/Leeds has you'd think there'd be more than enough room for them. (btw, have you heard Megs is going to do Download again?).
