Unfortunately I'm not posting for myself but someone I met on another board went to the July 21 gig and told me I was welcome to share his comments on the forum Very Happy

Just wanna say that the gig was on last night and it was excellent! The band were really up for it and it showed. They were on for about an hour and a half and had a good mix between the old stuff and highlighting some of the new material from the album which sounds really good so far. What you expect from a diamond head performance really...tight riffs and plenty of great metal tunes. Their new singer Mick Tart i think his name is? Anyway he is a proper old style melodic singer and its very refreshing to hear that. All in all a very good night indeed. Plenty of young metal fans there as well which is always good to see.

I can second that - thoroughly enjoyed the night (and for 25 Euro it was damn good value!). One thing I did notice is that some of the older classics where played faster/heavier that the originals – Personally I prefer the slower/looser approach (as Ritchie Blackmore said about Led Zeppelin the first time he heard them “I got it - you don’t have to be loud to be heavy”) – but hey I am old <g>.

The support bands did a great job and the XBrothers really got the crowd going.

The new album is (IMO) better than the last one, in particular “Victim” is getting heavy rotation here!!!
