Bad week at work!So come on then, who had a bad week at work!
Mine was a nightmare. What topped it off was that it ended on Friday the 13th.
If anyone wants to vent their anger about an awkward client / boss, this is the place to do it!
My story is this, I had a client call me Monday for a project to be finished by Friday (today). The guy e-mailed me constantly (Thursday he exceeded 30 e-mails) and phoned me non stop (5 times in an hour is a bit excessive me thinks!). At the end, I lost my rag and had to send them an e-mail along the lines of "I think this is where our collaboration stops".
I am a very patient person and very goodwilled by nature but 30 e-mails and 20 phonecalls in a day (like I stated before 5 in an hour!) just seems too much for me!
What do you guys think? Obviously this is just my side of the story but I work in translation and his concerns were things along the lines of:
Why did you translate "Today we went to the park" in this way, should it not be "We went to the park today"???
I let him know it's just down to writing styles and what the source document states. He also expected me to "cut parts out" of a legal contract, as the English was too long. This to me is unethical as if you tell me to start cutting parts out of a document, then it isn't going to be true to the original right?
So I lost out on time and money. I still have my sanity though!
But I digress...
Aaagghhhhh, good to get that out of my system, even if it is just in the virtual world!
